    Great-grandmother Theresa Wilkerson demands respect

A 57-year-old great-grandmother has been arrested on a charge of child abuse after authorities say she struck her great-granddaughter with a electric cable, according to a Manatee County Sheriff’s Office report.

Deputies arrested Theresa Wilkerson afterthe child called 911 after leaving their house, the sheriff’s report said.

The girl, whose age was not listed, said her great-grandmother struck her with the cord after she got into an argument with another boy over a broken Ipod. Wilkerson told deputies she hit the girl because “she disrespected her,” the sheriff’s report said.

Deputies found the girl with a three-inch long red mark on her forehead and cut on her forearm, the sheriff’s report said. When asked if Wilkerson knew she had hurt the child, she replied:

“No. If I wanted to hurt her, I would have hit her harder. But I didn’t. I just wanted her to stop yelling at me because I am her elder.”

According to the report, Wilkerson struck the child twice in a chopping motion.

Wilkerson works for the Shining Light Church of God in Christ in Palmetto.

Whoa, GREAT-GRANDMOTHER is 57, and the child was yelling at her? The child is old enough to yell? These people believe in having kids YOUNG.

    She'll be a great-great-grandmother before she's 70.

I am a great-grandmother at 60. LOL. I adopted my youngest son when my daughter was found to have brain cancer. He's really my grandson.

The real reason that we can’t have the Ten Commandments in a courthouse: You cannot post “Thou shalt not steal,” “Thou shalt not commit adultery,” and “Thou shalt not lie” in a building full of lawyers, judges, and politicians. It creates a hostile work environment. George Carlin

usually a cuff on the back of the head smartened me right up... What happened to that?
I just don't get it, there is a HUGE freaking line between discipline and abuse...

I support this women in all of her efforts.
Yet know, my master, God omnipotent,
Is mustering in his clouds on our behalf
Armies of pestilence; and they shall strike
Your children yet unborn and unbegot,
That lift your vassal hands against my head
And threat the glory of my precious crown.

My dear old granmother ,is a mean old bitch just like this one. I still recall the day that she struck me over the head with a 2x2, I completely passed out. I stopped seeing the old sack of loose skin (can you tell I love her?), for many years and found her again as an adult. The 1st thing out of that woman's mouth was, "do you remember when I hit you with the 2x2?" I just wanted to reach out and punch her lights out. But my kids were with me so I walked away...Never to see her again.

Now she is dying, and keeps calling for me,my sisters & my mother, who she abused. Payback is a bitch...No cookies and milk from that bitch
