Cristhian Ramos-Murillo attacks girlfriend with a machete

A Broward County man has been charged with attacking his girlfriend with a machete and chopping off two of her fingers, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

The victim, 42-year-old Jacqueline Yulfo, was taken to North Broward Medical Center after the Monday night attack, and she underwent emergency surgery shortly afterward. She was listed in critical condition.

The man who allegedly attacked her was identified as 21-year-old Cristhian Ramos-Murillo. He was also taken to the hospital. Police said he cut himself several times, but his injuries are not as serious as Yulfo's.

Police said Ramos-Murillo has been in trouble with the law before. In November 2008, he faced charges of disorderly conduct, aggravated battery and resisting an officer.

Ramos-Murillo, who also went to a hospital with unspecified injuries, will face attempted murder charges when he recovers.


Authorities aren't saying what led to the attack, but from the looks of Ramos-Murillo, he doesn't appear to be a peaceful man. A booking photo shows the machete madman with a "F--- Da World" tattoo sprawled across his neck.

WOW. I'm almost tempted to suggest that any 42 year old broad stupid enough to hook up with a guy whose NECK tattoos scream "Douchebag!" deserves a few whacks with a machete. But I'm not quite that bold.

It wasnt 2 fingers it was "4" and he attacked her with a a machete and a knife. Its funny how the news dealt with his Tattoo, most of them chopped off the Pict right above the 'fuck" word and a few even edited the word out of the Pict. Geeze and there are 2 of the scumbags.

Deputies responded and found Yulfo had been repeatedly stabbed and slashed with a knife and machete, BSO said. Aside from missing fingers on her right hand, she suffered cuts to her arms, legs, back and chest, BSO said.

Contrary to an arrest report that on Tuesday said four of Yulfo's fingers had been cut off, two of Yulfo's fingers were severed, BSO sheriff's spokeswoman Keyla Concepcion said.

Ramos-Murillo is nicknamed "twin," because he has a twin brother. With the exception of possibly their middle name, the brothers share the same name, BSO said.

NORTH LAUDERDALE — Wielding a machete and a knife, a man repeatedly stabbed his girlfriend and then hacked off four of her fingers, according to the Broward Sheriff's Office.

Yulfo, who works for the Coral Springs Fire Department, was listed in critical condition Tuesday.

When it was over, Yulfo was left covered with gashes and missing fingers on her right hand, according to a police report.

Neighbors said they often witnessed arguments outside the yellow, one-story home. "They used to fuss all the time," said Annette Tilghman, 50. "There would be screaming. It's terrible."

Ramos-Murillo has been arrested at least twice in Broward County on domestic violence charges filed by other women, according to county records. In both incidents, the charges were dismissed.

Since 2002, he's been convicted on several other charges, including grand theft and resisting arrest, according to state records.

Cristhian Ramos-Murillo was sentenced to 20 years in prison after pleading guilty to attacking his girlfriend with a machete outside of his Coral Springs' apartment last year.

The victim, 42-year-old Jacqueline Yulfo, was very emotional in a Broward courtroom Friday as her former lover changed his plea to guilty to avoid a possible life sentence for attempted murder.

After nearly a year, the woman still had one question: "Why did you do it?"

Ramos-Murillo, 21, apologized for the attack, in which he chopped off four of the woman's fingers and left her hospitalized for weeks.

On June 11, 2009, Ramos-Murillo and Yulfo got into a heated argument that eventually escalated into a fight. Ramos-Murillo then chased Yulfo with a machete, stabbing her several times and chopping off fingers as Yulfo tried to shield her face from the hacking blows.

Yulfo worked parttime at the Coral Springs Fire Department at the time of the incident.
