Today, is the tenth anniversary of Kristen Salems gruesome murder, administered by her bio-donor, Shawn Grell.
I know where Kristen Courtney is, She knows only Joy and Overwhelming Love, but I think about her, quite often and I pray for her Mom and Grandparents that loved her so dearly. I know that it has not gotten any easier for them.
Here is a prayer in honor of her memory;

dare i say it? the constitution and supreme court are not getting the job done and havent for quite some time. it's not as much disregard as it is not being good enough for my liking. our system is unforgiving to the forgivable and forgiving to the unforgivable. it's basically why this place can exist and flourish as it does, because we do not weed out the scum. we give them rights and automatically attribute human qualities to people who in my opinion waived their rights to call themselves fellow man a long time ago. it's just not cutting the mustard anymore. lawyers have a lot to do with it but it's not the only reason. clearly we need some sort of life/cultural cleanup crew before we can actually go back to trusting in such idealistic entities. this man must perish immediately, what he did is arguably good enough to be first in line, but in no way should he be the last...

Violent crime is at the lowest point in statistical history, so what's "anymore", exactly?
Everyone knows the justice system is flawed - in some respects, severely so. But I get the impression that you haven't even begun to consider the kind of hellfire abandoning the Constitution because some punishments aren't to your "liking" would unleash upon society.
The Constitution and SCOTUS are hardly idealistic entities. They're what keeps the rabid emotionalism in check. They are why hundreds of thousands swarm to this country every year. They are the backbone of the greatest nation on the planet. God help us if we were subjected to the rule of law created by everyone with an attitude like yours.
As a civil society, we don't execute retards and nutcases for their crimes, and that's okay with me. I argue all the time that death is far too good for violent offenders anyway. But no need to turn this into a death penalty debate... we've got plenty of those hanging around here.
Now, if someone distrusts the assertion that he's retarded to begin with, that's a different argument entirely. But bad things happen when people disregard the Constitution.
