So I've found something ELSE to squander enormous amounts of time obsessing over. I shake my fist at thee, DD! My free time is an iron filing to your magnet.
I'm fascinated by exactly the sort of creepy bastards this site manages to turn up. It's like poking a bruise. I can't fathom their thought processes, but I can certainly try. Plus, releasing some digital vitriol in their direction is therapeutic. Like many folks on here, I come from a history of abuse and neglect, and we'll leave it there for now, except where I think it's relevant.
After a few weeks of lurking and being horrified at not only the depth of the savagery to sample here, but also a the sheer volume, I just couldn't take it any more and had to get mah avatar on and sign up to comment and give out the thankies.
I've been married with pets for nearly 12 years now. My husband and I love our cat, Erik, and our dog, Amy. Well, I love the cat and the dog. He loves the dog and tolerates the cat.
Erik is a 9 year old 18 lbs giant orange tomcat who looks quite a bit like a bengal, though he's just a generic American Shorthair kibbers from a broken home. He loves hummus and Buffalo sauce and green chili. Seriously, he loves hot and spicy foods and garlic like you wouldn't believe. I limit his garlic intake to avoid anemia, but he's a nut for it. He's mommy's evil little dictator in search of a country.
Amy is a beautiful brindled pit bull mix rescue we've owned for just about a year. We call her a "chicken pit pie" because she is such a little chicken. She's terrified of our coffee table and our tile floor. She's an old girl, her muzzle is completely shot with gray, but we have no way of knowing how old, exactly. She's definitely had a ton of puppies. She was kept in a crate to excess, so she's stiff and arthritic, but we love spoiling her. She doesn't understand how to play, but she sure cuddles like a pro! She is sincerely, the sweetest, gentlest animal I've ever met. Her instructors at dog training think she'd make a great therapy animal.
