D'Iberville Police are looking for the man who was wearing nothing but a mask when he attacked a woman. Police say attack happened just before 6 p.m. as the woman was leaving a popular swimming spot known as "Redneck Beach" or "The Cliff" off Riverside Drive.
The woman told police she had spent the day sunning and was headed to her car when
she noticed a white man hiding behind a tree. When the man jumped out,
he was nude, wearing only a camouflage mask over his face. He was also carrying a shotgun or rifle.
The woman yelled at the man to stop and then ran off. The man chased the woman, eventually catching up to her and knocking her to the ground. Chief Payne said the woman managed to fight off the attacker and escape. The naked man ran into the woods.
Captain Keith Davis said the attack was probably not the first. And that the department is working with other coast agencies who have had similar reports, possibly from the same man.

The victim and witnesses described the nude white male as about six feet tall, 250 pounds, with a "pot belly."
