Texas woman dies in pool year after children did

Police in Texas say a woman has died in an apparent drowning at the same swimming pool where her two children drowned less than a year ago.

Police discovered 35-year-old Van Ha Stocco lying near the pool at her home in Coppell Wednesday afternoon. She was pronounced died at Las Colinas Medical Center.

The Dallas Morning News reports that it's unclear who found Stocco and called police. It's not clear if the death was intentional or an accident. An autopsy is being conducted but there were no signs of foul play.

The woman's children, 3-year-old Marcus Stocco and his 1-year-old sister Catherine Stocco, drowned last July 8.

Authorities say Matthew Stocco, their father, told them he found the children at the bottom of the pool but couldn't revive them.

What a sad story. It wouldn't surprise me if the loss wasn't too great, and she drown herself on purpose. :(

She was lying NEAR the pool? Not in it? Hmmmm...

I am sorry for Mr. Stocco's loss. First his kids and now his wife.

Although I fell sorry for him, I can't help but think he may have killed them all...just very strange...

At any rate, be at peace with your babies...

Somehow I doubt this is an accident sounds to me like either buggy or smallwonder's thoeries are more likely. Mommy couldn't handle is and killed herself (I prolly would) or daddy killed everyone. So friggin sad!

That ws my first thought when I read the title of this story. Hell, would you blame her? I sure as hell would have been gone a long time ago...

What a sad story! I do question the bit about how she was found beside the pool though and how do two small children get to the pool and both drown at the same time has me a bit suspicious.
