56 stars tattooed on teen's face - she asked for 3

A teenage girl is suing a tattoo artist for £10,000 after she allegedly asked him for three stars on her face - but ended up with 56.

Eighteen-year-old Kimberley Vlaminck paid £55 for 'the graffiti that has ruined my life' in her Belgian home town of Courtrai

She claimed the Romanian tattooist who performed the artwork misunderstood her French and English.

She claims she fell asleep while he was doing his work... and awoke to 'this nightmare'.

'It is terrible for me,' said Kimberley. 'I cannot go out on to the street, I am so embarrassed. I just look horrible.'

'I think he didn’t understand what I wanted. He spoke only fractured English and French.

'But I explicitly said in my native tongue, French, and also in a little bit of English when he looked confused, that I wanted three little stars only near my left eye.'

Rouslan Toumaniantz, who runs the tattoo parlour called The Tattoo Box in Courtrai, denies her claim.

He said she knew 'exactly what she wanted'.

He added: 'She was awake and looked into the mirror several times as the procedure was taking place.

'The trouble all started when she went home and her father and boyfriend threw a fit.

'They are saying things now like I doped her or hypnotised her. What rubbish!

'She asked for 56 stars and that’s what she got.'

To remove the stars would require surgery costing £8,500.

But even the most advanced laser techniques would, while removing the tattoos, leave deep white marks all across Kimberley's face.

She has launched legal proceedings against Toumaniantz seeking damages, plus the money for the operation.

He was questioned by police earlier this year but they decided it was a civil matter and that there was nothing they could do.

Jules Clocher, a Belgian psychologist, said: 'The trauma this girl must be feeling is indescribable. She feels like a circus freak - and no wonder, because she looks like one.'

3 stars don't take that long and she should have not had time to fall asleep before realizing that she was getting more than three.

Plus, I don't know about Romania, but they put a stencil on first and have you approve the placement before they start with the gun.

I call bullshit. Three little stars would have taken 5 minutes...not even long enough to fall asleep. Besides, if she couldn't get across that she wanted 3 stars near her left eye, regardless of what language the tattooist spoke, then she's an idiot. Get the fuck outta my brain, would ya? Anyway, for three little stars a stencil wouldn't have been needed...they could have easily done that freehand, but they most likely would have had her approve the placement.

You don't fall asleep during a tattoo. In fact, I'm sure she was in pain the entire time.

I have fallen asleep getting a tattoo and I wasn't even loaded...BUT it was in the same area. Each time the guy switched spots on her face her endorphines would have had to kick in all over again. It's not likely that she could have fallen asleep during that session.

I've got one tat on my forearm, about the size of a baseball. I drank a pint of Wild Turkey 101 before and during the process, and that motherfucker still hurt. I walked out of that parlor damn near sober. I could have even eaten 3 Quaaludes but, I damn sure wouldn't have been able to fall asleep. There's no way this bitch fell asleep getting her face tattooed...like I would when I'm getting a haircut.

I just don't see that being some accident. I think she was impulsive and doesn't want to own up. I have a Tattoo that is 2" x 2" and half is solid black and it didn't take over 45 minutes, actually I think it was under 30 minutes. There just isn't enough time to fall asleep unless she has a convenient case of narcolepsy or the artist was...scratch that the artist couldn't have dragged that out and looked busy for long.

Even if by some chance that he misunderstood something... I'm sure she atleast pointed and specified where she wanted the tattoo's and I highly doubt that she pointed all-over the left side of her face.

I agree with RA regarding the stencils... I've never had a tattoo without having stenciling done first.

So what did she do ? Say "gimme' trois stars" and she passed the fuck out right away ?

She must have been on the brink of alcohol poisoning if she really didn't feel a thing.

One more thing to consider...I've had ample experience with language barriers and every single time, attempts at some sort of bastardized sign language is used as a bridge to understanding. If language WERE a barrier here, why wouldn't she have held up 3 damn fingers?

I don't know an artist who will do the face. I've been rejected on FEET! Many won't do your hands unless you already have ink in the "drain on society" zone from the what your tattoo says about you thread. I even had a guy say he wouldn't do a friend's stomach because she didn't already have a stomach tat and he didn't want her to be in too much pain or regret it after childbirth (this woman is in her 40s and NOT having kids) How the fuck does a 15 year old get a tat? This is the kind of dumb shit kids do! THat's why in america you have to be 18 or have parental consent, which clearly she didn't! Poor little circus freak.

Any reasonable tattoo artist would never disfigure a face on a young person like that,or anyone for that matter, that may regret it later. Especially, if she is asleep. It is almost akin to a rape. This guy was unethical unsound and plain fucking mean. Or she requested them and is dumber than he is.

I don't have any tats, but I cannot imagine anyone falling asleep while being tattooed ON THE FACE without heavy drugs, which would explain the request for 56 stars tattooed on ones face in the first place.

cause it seems to me 55 euro sounds right for a face fulla simple star tats (not just 3 small simple stars tats, which is nothing - & would be much cheaper dontcha think?)

when i got my HUGE back tat it was $180, & with the euro being generally 1.5 american now - seems a faceful of simple star tats at 55 euro is about right (or about roughly $80 bucks)
