MURPHYSBORO, Ill. - A Murphysboro woman is in custody after trying to set fire to her ex-boyfriend and the home where he was staying.
Jackson County Sheriff's deputies were called to a home on Maes Road early Thursday morning.
Witnesses told deputies 29 year old Trenell Davis of Murphysboro had entered the home without permission, poured gasoline on her estranged boyfriend then poured gasoline all over the house.
Davis couldn't find a lighter to ignite the fuel and fled before deputies arrived.
Davis was later arrested for home invasion, domestic battery and endangering the
life or health of a child. Deputies say there were four children in the home during
the altercation.
Davis is being held in the Jackson County Jail pending a court
appearance.
