Police have arrested an Aloha man on Murder charges related to the death of his 2-month old daughter. Aloha Police say Eber Gramajo was arrested yesterday afternoon for Assault after his two-month-old child was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Sgt. David Thompson with the Washington County Sheriff's Office says detectives investigating the crime learned that Mr. Gramajo was home alone with the child when she suffered a severe closed-head injury. The child later died at the hospital.
Thompson says Wednesday at about 1:30 p.m. a 911 call was received that requested medical attention for a two-month-old child.
"The father,
32-year-old Eber Gramajo-Calderon, reported through a third party that his daughter,
Maya Gramajo, was unconscious and not breathing."
Medical personal arrived at the home and took the baby to St. Vincent's Hospital. She was later transferred to Emmanuel Hospital and entered into the trauma system.
"Maya Gramajo suffered a closed head injury. She was kept on life support while doctors tried to save her, but because of the severity of the injuries she was pronounced dead today."
Gramajo has one other child who was home at the time. He is 16-months old and did not require any medical attention. He has been placed with relatives. Thompson says the mother of Maya was not home at the time and does not face any charges.
