A Wheatfield woman who allegedly cut a 12-year-old girl’s throat with a knife at a Newstead campground was arrested Saturday night on multiple charges, including felony assault, according to the Erie County Sheriff’s Office.
Cindy Becker, 50, of Shawnee Road, was charged with second-degree assault, a felony, and five misdemeanor counts following an incident at Sleepy Hollow Lake Campground on Siehl Road.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, Becker was highly intoxicated and confronted two girls just before 10 p. m. She accused them of harassing her, pulled out a pocket knife and put it to the throat of one of the girls, causing a cut.
The two girls fled and told a parent. When the parent of one of the girl’s confronted Becker, Becker slammed a car door on the parent’s leg, deputies said.
After the incident, campground employees detained Becker until police arrived.
All of the victims in the case sought their own medical care, authorities said.
In addition to the second-degree assault charge, Becker also was charged with third-degree assault, criminal possession of a weapon, second- degree menacing and endangering the welfare of a child.
She was taken to the Erie County Holding Center pending arraignment in Newstead Town Court.
