A woman accused of shooting her 86-year-old husband and concealing his body in the living room told police that the injuries on his face were caused by their pit bulls.

The Tarrant County medical examiner's office identified the man as Robert Stevenson.

Fort Worth police responded to a home in the 5800 block of Hartman Road Thursday evening after receiving a tip from the woman's son. Officers arrived at the home and found Robin Mirth, 53, hiding behind some furniture and took her into custody.

Police searched the home twice and found the husband under several blankets in the living room between a bed and a wall. Police said the man appeared to have head and facial injuries and a close-range gunshot wound to the back.

Mirth told police the facial injuries were caused by the two pit bulls and four puppies in the home. One officer was bitten before the dogs were removed.

But seriously, DAMN, is that some spousal love or what? Not...
I agree, why not just let him finish out his days, it's not likely he's got that many left. I so hope the gunshot killed him quickly, and he wasn't aware of the dogs chewing on his face. What a horrible way to go. If she didn't want to care for him anymore, why not leave, or at the very least, put him in a home. Shooting him in the back, that's just cowardly.

Fort Worth homicide detectives are investigating the bizarre death of an 86-year-old man found buried under blankets in his home, and they are blaming his wife.

Police say around 10:30 Thursday night, 54-year-old Robin J. Mirth called her former husband and confessed she had just shot her current husband, identified by the medical examiner as Robert Stevenson.

When police got to the couple's home in the 5800 block of Hartman, Mirth would not answer the door. When officers broke in, they found Mirth hiding behind some furniture.

Officers searched the house twice before they found Stevenson's body concealed beneath the blankets, tucked between a bed and a wall in the living room. In a news release, police say he suffered head trauma and a gunshot wound to the back.

They also found a shotgun, believed to be the murder weapon.

Police also say there were several pit bulls inside the home, and one of the officers was bitten before the dogs were rounded up. Mirth also had an injury to her face, which she claimed had come from one of the dogs.

I read that first article to say that the dogs injured her husband's face after being shot dead.....now my title is no longer inneresting....

maybe it should be changed to, "Robin Mirth shot her husband in the back and confessed to her ex."?

i dunno, stupid writers....

EDIT: You know what, I don't even know. Some are saying it was his face that had the injuries, and some are saying it was her face that had the injuries....guess we'll find out later on tonight or something...

I don't expect we Demonites to be perfect writers because that's not our field of expertise (at least for most of us). We're just the messengers. I do expect our Journalist or Newspaper Editors not to be sleeping on the job though.
One morning, just go through the articles for "shits and giggles" and you will see serious typo's, blunders, screwed up facts, and sentences that simply make no sense.

Damn it all to Hell fire, she shot him close range in the back with a shotgun then lets the dogs eat his face off. WTF is wrong with her???? She was 53 and he was 86, I guess she didnt marry him cause she loved him and he took to damn long to die.

Hell fire and Damnation, She also gave each one of the dogs a death sentence, I am pretty sure they put all of them to sleep after that, you cant have dog who ate some one ( especially pit bulls ) walking around after that. My dad killed a few of my favorite dogs after they got into the chicken coop. Not because he was mean, its what you have to do after that happens. or get rid of them. Once they have a taste for blood, there not safe around other animals.

Hmm , I guess its possible she snuck up behind him, cold cocked him on the head with the shot gun, then shot him in the back were he lay. I dont see her as dragging him around the house much , sounds like the living room was full of shit anyways. If he was laying on the floor and bleeding from the head and back the dogs would have been licking at it and is why she got bit, trying to shoo the dogs away from him, and why he was covered up with the blankets. Or that my guess from the info we got about it.
