SPRING HILL - An armed home invasion Wednesday morning ended with shots fired and the arrest of the resident.
The victim, Shakinma Waddy, told deputies that two men with handguns forced their way inside her home at 520 Spring Haven Loop before 5 a.m. As the men ransacked her house, Waddy and her date ran out of the door and escaped.
The burglars fired several shots as they left, but it wasn't apparent what they stole. Waddy allowed a detective to search the home and he said he found 18 plastic bags holding marijuana.
As the detective removed the bags from the house, Waddy reportedly said, "I know. It's mine."
Waddy said she does not smoke marijuana, but sells it periodically and conceded that the drugs were probably what the burglars were looking for, a report states.
She was arrested on a charge of possession of more than 20 grams of marijuana.
