According to a report from the Pasco County Sheriff’s Office, two women — Kathryn McKean, 26, and Doreen Darby, 23 — followed a 22-year-old woman Monday evening to a Dollar General store and confronted her in the restroom. The victim told deputies that the women hit her in the face and arms. After McKean took her purse, the report said, the victim chased the women out to the parking lot of the store at 11928 U.S. 19, just south of State Road 52.

McKean and Darby struck the woman “multiple” times and emptied her purse, the report said. Authorities said McKean took the woman’s cell phone and change purse and fled in Darby’s 1991 Cadillac Deville.
Witnesses helped lead deputies to McKean and Darby, who were arrested Tuesday at Mc*Kean’s address, 9311 Bolton Ave. in Hudson. McKean said the woman stole money from her, and Darby said she was not involved in the fight.

Both women also picked up charges of trafficking oxycodone after authorities found the drugs at McKean’s home. The pills were obtained by a third party using a fake prescription under Mc*Kean’s sister’s name, the report said.

Darby, of 10027 Daybreak Drive in Hudson, and McKean are being held in lieu of $60,000 bail at the Land O’Lakes jail

Yeah, a dollar store is not the place for big bucks, Some one metioned this store has a ton of people hanging around out front, begging for money and smokes. Why at dollar store is beyond me.

Doreen Darby, 23, and Kathryn McKean, 26, both of Hudson, are accused of following the 22-year-old victim to the store and confronting her in the bathroom.

McKean struck the victim and grabbed her purse, a sheriff's report states. The victim chased McKean into the parking lot, where McKean and Darby struck her again. McKean and Darby dumped out the contents of the woman's purse, and McKean left with the victim's cell phone and change purse, the report states.

The victim's name has not been released, but sheriff's spokesman Kevin Doll said the woman knows her attackers.
