Cashin Clay pistol-whipped a teen

A Houston Independent School District special education teacher has been arrested for pistol-whipping a 16-year-old after the teen posted footage of the alleged assault on YouTube.

Cashin Clay, 53, is free on $30,000 bail after being charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, Harris County District Attorney spokeswoman Donna Hawkins said.

He is scheduled to appear in court June 8.

Hawkins said the teenager, whose name was not released, lived with Clay, but she did not know the nature of their relationship.

She said investigators reported that video from a surveillance camera in the teen’s room showed Clay hitting the teen with the barrel and butt of a pistol.

Hawkins said the teen downloaded the video and posted it on the video-sharing site YouTube in hopes that someone would alert the police. Clay was arrested April 25.
