Andrew Mizsak didn't wanna clean his room

It's odd enough that a Bedford father would actually call police after arguing with his son about cleaning his room.

Stranger still, the sloppy son is 28 years old and serves on the Bedford School Board.

"I know this looks bad," said School Board member Andrew Mizsak, who lives with his parents and also works as an independent political consultant. His mother, Paula, is a Bedford councilwoman.

Andrew MizsakMizsak's dad, also Andrew, called 9-1-1 on Thursday after his son threw a plate of food across the kitchen table and balled his fist up at his dad when told to clean his room.

The senior Mizsak, 63, wouldn't press charges and told police, "I don't want to ruin his political career." According to the report, he said: "Andrew is 270 pounds and he can't fight him, that they do everything for Andrew and he doesn't even pay rent."

The elder Mizsak said Saturday, "I overreacted. No big deal."

According the report, "Andrew was sent to his room to clean it. He was crying uncontrollably and stated he would comply."

Ok, since I am 28 and currently living with my parents and small children due to extenuating circumstances, karma is forcing me to give a tiny benefit of the doubt. But.....

Too late for that Pops. He's 28, weighs 270, lives in your basement and looks like he's 40. OK maybe prior to this is career was cool, but luck with the women was probably blown when he was 24 and threw a tantrum in the grocery store when you wouldn't let him buy Coco-Puffs. Either way, he's going to be there for a verrrrrrrrrrrrry long time now.

Time to take the diaper off or let him sit in his own shit.

I have a sneaking suspicion his political career wasn't going to go far anyway. All his opponent had to do was tell everyone this guy still lives with Mommy and Daddy. Since he can't run his own life, he sure as shit can't run anything else.

Honestly, I can't recall one single time I got "sent to my room" as a child. My parents just didn't do that. And I believe the last time I got in a fight with my parents was when I was like 16. I didn't throw a tantrum or hurl cheerios at them, either. I just told them to leave me alone. This guy sounds severley stunted. In fact, the first thing I thought of when I read this was Ignatius Reilly from "A Confederacy of Dunces". Only Ignatius was much, much smarter than this dipshit.

i never was sent to my room, either, but i do it with my 8 year old when she has a tantrum. when she gets mad, she's like a dog with a bone, completely unreasonable, and doesn't quit. once she engages her mouth and disengages her brain, things go downhill fast with no brakes and don't stop till she wrecks, usually taking innocent victims (me, my other daughter) with her.

in her room, she can yell, do relaxation exercises, punch pillows, or listen to some music till she calms down, and is fit for human interaction again, lol.

i sure hope she doesn't need that kind of re-direction when she's 28!

When do parents stand up and get the respect they deserve. It doesn't come at age 16 or whatever age. It is taught from birth. Disrespect was never tolerated in my house. Too many people tolerate too much disrespective behavior from their children which teaches them its ok in real life society. That is one reason I think society has gone so down hill.
