A man walked up to the Lew Sterrett Jail in Dallas this morning and told authorities he had just killed his wife and beaten her brother, according to police.

The confession came as officers were already investigating the murder. Dallas police say just after 9:30 this morning they were called to a shooting at the Park Manor Apartments on Edgewood.

They say 48-year-old Carolyn Cleary had been killed by someone she knew. Police also found the woman's brother, Sylvester Williams, who had been beaten.

Williams told officers he had tried to stop the attack on his sister when he was assaulted. Police say he was beaten with an unknown object. He's in the hospital with what police say are non-life threatening injuries.

A 48-year-old South Dallas woman was fatally attacked in her apartment this morning and her brother was beaten after he tried to intervene, Dallas police said.

The body of Carolyn Williams-Cleary was found in her apartment in the 3300 block of Edgewood Street. Authorities did not release her cause of death.

Her brother, Sylvester Williams, 56, had been beaten on the head and torso and was taken to Baylor University Medical Center at Dallas for non-life threatening injuries, police said. Authorities initially said that Williams had been beaten with an antique iron, but later said it may not have been the weapon.
I wish they all did this when they committed a crime.
