PORT ST. LUCIE — A woman accused of
stabbing her husband with a curtain rod, biting his arms and hitting him with a cast iron pan as their 2-year-old son was nearby is facing charges, according to recently released records.
Tetyana Demyanovych, 33, faces felony counts of aggravated battery and aggravated child abuse in connection with the Tuesday incidents.
Demyanovych's 43-year-old husband told police he was cooking meatballs for his son when Demyanovych got angry over alleged uncompleted chores he was supposed to do, mainly building a fence.
Demyanovych allegedly started to hit the walls, ripping the air conditioner control unit and phone off the wall and throwing the meatballs.
The husband further alleged Demyanovych started throwing water and bit his arms. Their 2-year-old child reportedly was sitting nearby and started to cry and scream. The husband picked up the boy to protect him as Demyanovych ”
came at both of them with a heavy cast iron pan,” a report states.
She allegedly struck her husband with the pan before ripping down some curtains and stabbing him with the curtain rod.
Demyanovych, who is three months pregnant, had a cut on her stomach that appeared to be left by the curtain rod during the stabbing. She also had a red mark on her right pointer finger. She gave a variety of explanations for her injuries.
The husband said Demyanovych has a bad temper and is violent. He said he hasn't called 911 because he fears losing his job as a security guard.
The husband's mother told police that before the recent incident, she never has seen Demyanovych physically abuse the 2-year-old boy. She said Demyanovych is ”emotionally abusive, yelling at him constantly,” the report states.
She said she's seen her son abused by Demyanovych many times.
