PORT ST. LUCIE — A night of drinking ended particularly poorly for a 44-year-old mother who was arrested after police say she punched her teenaged son in the face, knocking his glasses off, according to a recently released affidavit.
Police gave this account:
Estella M. Rosendo reportedly came
home intoxicated about 9:50 a.m. Tuesday after a night of imbibing and started a physical altercation with her younger son, 11.
Rosendo, of the 3700 block of Southwest Manak Street, pushed the 11-year-old, and he told his older brother, 15. The older brother confronted his mother about the incident because his younger sibling was crying.
That, according to the affidavit, is when Rosendo punched the teen in the face. His glasses got knocked off and he sustained a small cut under his left eye.
The children told police they are home-schooled by their mother.
Rosendo was arrested on a child abuse charge and taken to the St. Lucie County jail.
