Tammy Chinn uses her 3-year-old to shoplift at Walmart

Troy -- An Oak Park mother is in Oakland County Jail after allegedly using her 3-year-old daughter to help her shoplift from Wal-Mart on W. Maple Road in Troy, police said today.

Wal-mart employees told police they saw Tammy Sue Chinn, 32, with her daughter selecting items from display and instructing her child to place them in her makeup bag on Friday. According to the Troy Police, Chinn then ordered her child to carry the bag with the concealed store items, through the cash register line while she paid for other items.

Mother and daughter then left the store. Chinn was arrested and arraigned Saturday at Oakland County Circuit Court on the charges of two counts: second degree retail fraud and contributing to the delinquency of a minor. The cash bond was set at $250,000.

Oh, what a shitty mom teaching a 3 yr. old to steal. Good job mom, NOT! I cannot believe how selfish this woman is thinking only of herself and not her daughter.

Strange as it sounds, she might have some sort of disorder. I have a friend who grew up with nothing. She was in and out of foster homes and such. She stole instinctively to survive. As an adult, she married, had a child - and had everything she could want. But when she got stressed out or felt threatend by something like say losing her relationship during a common married couple type fight-she would go steal shit. It was like a defense mechanism or something. It calmed her. I think it just gave her something else to focus on long enough to calm down and fix her problem logically. She never used her child though and eventually she got caught. For 20 years or better, she stole shit - and never got caught. And then she got caught. It forced her to face it and she nearly did lose her mariage over it.

Some women are just irrational and stupid -but this woman wasn't stupid enough to think that kid would her get away with it-even more sad...

With all the cameras and security a person would have to be nuts to steal anything. I just couldn't do it.
