David Cardona dragged a woman by her purse through a Sanford parking lot.

SEMINOLE COUNTY, Fla. -- Police in Texas captured David Cardona who's accused of dragging a woman by her purse, through a Sanford parking lot.

Surveillance video recorded a woman being dragged from a car window after Cardona allegedly tried to steal her purse. A cell phone in the victim's purse helped lead police to Cardona because he used the phone.

The victim suffered serious injuries.

Leslie Downs was dragged beside a car as her arm is tangled in her purse. Downs said the driver was a small Hispanic man and said she approached the car because he'd asked for directions.

How terrifying. Glad they caught him.
