Mega Lewis Is A Deadly Neighbor

Another source says she beat Anderson to death. Firefighters also believe she set fire to her own home. Crazy much? There has to be more to this story.

Police said a northeast Charlotte woman stabbed her neighbor to death in front of two children early Wednesday.

Investigators said the Charlotte Fire Department was called to 6617 Elgywood Lane at 4:42 a.m. after someone reported smelling smoke. They said the homeowner, 32-year-old Mega Lewis, went next door to 6623 Elgywood Lane for help and got into an altercation with Elizabeth Anderson, 36.

When fire investigators determined the blaze at Lewis’ home was suspicious, they went to Anderson’s home to speak with Lewis. Fire investigators told police they found Lewis brutally attacking Anderson while Lewis’ two young children were present.

Charlotte-Mecklenburg police rushed to the house and arrested Lewis. Firefighters pronounced Anderson dead at the scene.

Someone called the fire brigade on the mere smell of smoke? How did they know it was not a controlled burning of leaves or something?

Perhaps due to the hour? I have no idea. And why would she set fire to her own home, call the fire department, and then proceed to stab (or beat) her neighbor to death? Bizarre.

This article alludes that Lewis is the one who reported the fire in her house. They discovered the assault when the firemen went to Anderson's home to speak with Lewis.

Who thought it was a good idea to name their child Mega anyway. Did they know in advance she'd have mega mental problems?

Mega sounds like a male name.
A source told NewsChannel 36 that Lewis will likely undergo a mental evaluation before charges are filed.

She is mega deadly, that's for sure. I agree, that's another one for the unfortunate names list.

A woman accused of stabbing her neighbor to death after setting a fire in her own north Charlotte home made her first appearance in court Friday.

Mega Lewis, 32, was arraigned in a Mecklenburg County courtroom in front of several family members. The petite woman was shackled and disheveled as she stood before a judge. She appeared tired, and spoke only once -- to say she understood a public defender would represent her.

Lewis doubled over seconds later and held back tears ad the judge announced he was denying bond.

Lewis’ family rushed out of the courthouse, refusing to comment to Eyewitness News.
    More here and a video:

Elizabeth Anderson was stabbed to death inside her home on Elgywood Lane Wednesday.

Her next door neighbor, Mega Lewis is charged with the killing.

In court a judge denied bond for Lewis.

Fire trucks going to 6617 Elgywood Lane to put out an overnight blaze got neighbors out of bed up and down the block.

"I heard the sirens, and once I woke up to go work was when the whole street was filled with cops."

That's what Tamara McCauley told us, days later, a police search warrant offers unsettling details.

It says firefighters got to Mega Lewis home and, that she and several small children went next door to Elizabeth Anderson's home, while they put the fire out.

The warrant goes on to say one of the responders witnessed a black female lying on the living room floor, and narrative continues by spelling out how the neighbor was described as assaulting and beating Anderson on the living room floor.

Kollie lives across the street from the crime scene and knew Mega Lewis who's charged with murder.

She says, "I didn't see no harm in her. I didn't see any evil in her. Anything that says she look like a person that could kill. I didn't see that."

No, just living up to the self fulfilled prophecy of her name. It's actually, Mega-Tard Lewis, after her Momma, Semitard, who came up with the name.
