Christina Miraglia baby on life support, boyfriend charged

An 18-year-old man is under arrest, accused of seriously injuring his girlfriend's 1-year-old son.

The child was brought to Greenville Memorial Hospital on Tuesday night. Deputies said that the 1-year-old is a victim of severe child abuse.

Around 8 p.m. Tuesday, EMS was called to Heritage Mobile Home Park off of Anderson Road after a report of a child not breathing.

Deputies said that they found the baby’s mother, Christina Angelina Miraglia, and her boyfriend, Timothy Leroy Massey, kneeling near the child inside the mobile home.

Lt. Tim Ridgeway with the Greenville County Sheriff's office said emergency medical workers performed CPR on the 1-year-old and took him to Greenville Memorial. Ridgeway said the child is in very serious condition and breathing with the help of life support.

Emergency medical workers said there were numerous bruises, lacerations and contusions on the child’s head, chest and stomach.

Ridgeway added, "It's always hard to see a child injured like this. It's traumatic for everybody to see something like this because they're so helpless."

Deputies said Massey, Miraglia and her 4-year-old child were at the home when the 911 call came in.

Investigators said that they believe Massey was responsible for the baby’s injuries.

Massey is charged with assault and battery with intent to kill. He is being held without bond in the Greenville County Detention Center.

I really want to know what makes a putz so much more important than the kids.

that's exactly how I feel, it's just really sad what's happening to our babies when there are so many out there would love and cherish them like they deserve

you know, on the one hand, I sometimes wish I never found this forum because it breaks my heart every single day... on the other, I hope more people find it and take notice of what is going on around them, so many precious lives could be saved

This is the quote from her MySpace page. Sounds like maybe her brother was killed? Strange quote. Maybe she should finish the sentence with Timothy Massey's name.

Or will we hear that he loved that baby and would never hurt him? I wonder if she was around when he beat the poor child or if we'll learn there are signs of on-going abuse.

The Greenville County coroner say the infant was pronounced brain dead at 11:55 Thursday morning at Greenville Memorial Hospital.

The mother has chosen to donate the child’s organs.

Timothy Leroy Massey was originally charged with assault and battery with intent to kill.

The charges against Massey have now been upgraded to homicide.

I believe it's best the baby passed. He wouldn't have had any kind of life. Look at poor David, he's vegetative. Damn baby shakers piss me off.
