    Roberto Rodriguez, middle school soccer coach, accused of having sex with a student



    A 31-year-old man who worked in the library of a Denver middle school was charged Wednesday with having a sexual relationship with a student.

    Roberto Rodriguez worked as a para professional and was a girls soccer coach at Lake Middle School, said Lynn Kimbrough with the Denver District Attorney's Office.

    The charges alleged that Rodriguez began having a sexual relationship with a female student last December.

    School administrators learned of the relationship and called police to report it. Rodriguez was arrested on March 11 on charges of sexual assault on a child and sexual assault on a child by a person in a position of trust.

    A 32-year-old middle school worker who had an ongoing sexual relationship with a 14-year-old student has been sentenced to five years in prison.

    Roberto Rodriguez had pleaded guilty in April to attempted sexual assault on a child and contributing to the delinquency of a minor
