A boozed-up bloke who licked a woman’s face on a bus journey the day after groping a shop assistant has been jailed for two months.

Adrian Cross, 39, hugged the first woman, an assistant at a shop in Reading town centre, on the evening of Sunday, January 4.

He called the 35-year-old “a little Barbie doll” and started crying when she tried to get him to leave.

The next day he slobbered over a 26-year-old commuter on the Reading to Arborfield bus after offering her vodka and chocolates.

There is a friend of "Ade" defending him in the comments. She thinks people are overreacting; but I don't care how loveable he is: I do not know he wouldn't hurt a fly and if he had approached me in this manner I would have freaked out.

Adrian Cross' defence attorney says:

“In terms of the offences themselves there is not a great deal I can say because Mr Cross cannot remember them.

“All I can say about the offences is that they are on the lower end of the scale because they were both in broad daylight and the victims were not alone with him.

“He is a man who does feel genuine remorse about what he has done and he is extremely embarrassed and upset for himself and these two young ladies and his mother. He needs to address his alcohol issues. As a result he has also lost his employment. He is engaging well with the alcohol services team.”

Which drew the following comment to the article:

Surely it must be difficult to feel 'genuine remorse' when you cannot remember the incidents?

It also transpires that there have been instances of domestic violence at the home he shares with his mother. Sounds like a real teddy-bear. Not.

I hope the two victims are the sort of ladies who can laugh about this later. I giggled throughout most of the article, and I'd feel bad for laughing at some thing that traumatized somebody.

Well, it does sound as thought the first lady was scared to leave the shop after work, fearing he might be laying in wait.

And given that he has been sentenced to eight weeks detention only, there is every chance she will be confronted with him again. It is his local convenience store she works at........

I hope they will be able to laugh at it eventually; but I'd say it was probably a lot more scary to the victims than it was described in the opening of the article.

Does the fact it was done in broad daylight make the happenings more or less frightening, do you think?
