A Lake Park man allegedly tried to light a woman on fire, then smashed her against a glass table, authorities said.
As the woman tried to get away,
Kwanza Deon Glover also
bit her 13-year-old daughter on the left hand, drawing blood, according to a report.
This morning, Judge Debra Moses Stephens ordered Glover, 37, held in lieu of $78,000 bail. He is charged with committing an act that could cause death, a felony, as well as child abuse.
According to a Palm Beach County Sheriff's report, on Wednesday evening or Thursday morning, the 34-year-old woman got into an argument with Glover, who had left her children at a nearby church.
About 3:20 a.m. Thursday, the report said, the woman went to sleep on the couch.
Glover then
took a 32-ounce plastic bottle of barbecue lighter fluid and poured it on the woman, then tried to light her on fire with two matches.
When the fluid failed to catch, Glover
picked up the woman and slammed her on a glass table, breaking it and cutting the victim.
Paramedics treated the woman at the scene for cuts to her left wrist and right bicep.
