Zachary Jones sends vulgar messages depicting sex acts to a fellow student

MUNCIE, Ind. -- An 18-year-old Muncie high school student was arrested after police said he sent illicit text messages to a 14-year-old girl.

Zachary A. Jones was arrested Wednesday, accused of sending "vulgar messages depicting sex acts" to a fellow student, said Sgt. Linda Cook.

The girl's parents found the messages and called police.

The girl told investigators that she had been "sexting" with Jones and that he had also kissed and fondled her in a back stairway at Burris High School.

Cook said Jones admitted to sending the messages and that he was remorseful.

He was preliminarily charged with vicarious sexual gratification and sexual misconduct with a minor. Cook was released Thursday on pre-trial probation.

These kids just don't understand that when you put something out on the net or in a phone, anyone can see it at anytime.

He also doesn't seem to understand that as soon as he turned 18, anyone under 16(?) is OFF LIMITS according to the law. Sexting is one thing, but fondling and kissing? Not going to go over well. Hope he learns his lesson.
