Jose Perea Sleeps With The Dead

A man who allegedly killed a South Carolina woman, slept with her corpse and then dumped her body was arrested in Harlingen.

Authorities said murder suspect Jose Perea was found aboard a bus bound for Mexico on Monday evening.

Investigators said Perea strangled 40-year-old Helen Hancock on Friday night.

Authorities believe that the crime took place at Perea's trailer at the Parkside Mobile Home Park in Charleston, South Carolina.

Perea allegedly picked up his two roommates from work and then showed them Hancock's body.

Fearing their own lives, the two fled but didn't keep quiet.

South Carolina officials told WCSC-TV that they have information that Perea may have actually slept with Hancock's corpse before dumping her body.

Police said they believe he took the woman, a prostitute, to his mobile home Friday, killed her, then stayed there that night before dumping the body at a remote Rantowles Creek boat landing some 10 miles away.

If Perea waives extradition, he will be returned to Charleston County within 10 days. If he doesn't, a protracted extradition process has to be conducted through the governors' offices of both states.

Texas police took Perea off a bus in Harlingen, the last stop before the Free Trade Bridge at Los Indios. He didn't resist. Ten miles. It was that close.

"The two roommates really made the difference," Charleston County Sheriff Al Cannon said. "He would have been gone."

They already were scared of their roommate. Perea, a construction worker, had become more erratic, drugging and drinking heavily, since his wife and newborn baby left a few months earlier, they told police.

The body "freaked them out," Boyd said. They just got out of there. Only when they heard Perea had gotten on the bus and left town did they go to their church, which contacted police.

The news sites are just being polite in there wording of it, but the cops are saying its necrophilia, so there was definitly more going on that just ZZZzzzzzz with the dead body.

Wow Ick, but thanks Tazz for clearing up that gray area.

I am now wonder about how things went down, resulting in her being killed. I have a whole slew of questions, did he intend for this to happen, was his intention always to do the nasty with a corpse? I have tons and tons of questions now and I am pretty sure I now look like I am a fruit bat.

I just don't get the attraction to having sex(raping?) something dead. What about that sounds fun?

I went with a model friend one time to a adult store to buy a bikini made out of thoughs candy necklaces for a photo shoot we were doing. While we were there 5 illegals came into the store and they started discussing the purchase of a blow up girl they were all going to share. I though it was strange and kind of a weird thing to share and be so open about it with your friends. Not that I have ever bought one, but if I did I wouldnt tell my friends about it and I certainly wouldnt share it with them.

She explained to me a bit about attitudes in Latin country's, Like its OK for a guy to bone another guy , the stigma is on the person getting boned not the one doing it and it doesn't make them gay. Anyway the point is I don't think in this case it was about her being dead and a sexual attraction for it. I think it was just pussy and a fuck hole for him. A disgusting one at that point but still one none the less.

I have a friend who is dating an illegal from Mexico and the things he's into in bed kinda freak me out (call me a prude but rim jobs are so not my thing). It boggles my mind how she use to tell me I was insane when it came to what I was up for sexually but now...oh good God and sweet baby Jesus!

Back on topic. I was toying with this theory: He buys a working girl and takes her home. For some reason things don't go as planned and he loses it. I dunno maybe he takes his wife issues out on the lady. But anyhow one thing leads to another and he figures, what's done is done, he still wants what he was looking for and goes to town. Only now he doesn't have to give a damn because the worse has happened, he killed her anyhow.

Anyone else have some theories, thoughts or ideas?

Charleston County Sheriff's Maj. John Clark says federal marshals arrested Jose Perea about 6 p.m. Monday in Harlingen, Texas, after stopping a bus headed for Mexico. Authorities accuse Perea of strangling 40-year-old Helen Hancock of Hanahan on Friday. A woman walking her dog found Hancock's body Saturday in bushes near a rural Charleston County boat landing.

She was also a prostitute, but still, that's no way to go.
