A 16-year-old boy's body is found in an empty field shot, burned and partially buried.
The Cameron County Sheriff's Department has charged 18-year-old, Jonathan Martinez, for the murder. According to family members, Martinez was the last person to see the teenager alive.
The last time the family of 16-year-old, Luis Talavares, saw him was last Thursday. They told investigators, Martinez picked Talavares up for a barbeque but he never returned that night.
“The parents filed a missing person report with the Brownsville Police Department.”
The owner of the private ranch made the gruesome discovery. He found the 16-year-old burned and partially buried. But what's more strange about this case is that the 16-year-old's car was found in another city. It was found in Harlingen.
“It was found abandoned by one of the deputies. It was on one of the dirt roads that lead away from highway 800.”
