Two of three people who suffered gunshot wounds died overnight after being shot about 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at 6971 Halls Hill Pike, a sheriff's spokesman said.

Kevin Adams and his wife, Mary Jane, both 43, died from their injuries suffered at their home, said Sgt. Dan Goodwin.

Their 14-year-old son, Jesse, suffered a gunshot wound to the face. He was flown by LifeFlight helicopter to Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville where he was listed in stable condition.

Suspect Daniel Adam Hazlett, 24, of 2077 E. Trimble Road, was accused of shooting the Adamses, who are his uncle, aunt and cousin.

Kevin Adams was Hazlett's maternal uncle.

Detective Todd Sparks charged Hazlett with first-degree, premeditated murder of Kevin and Mary Jane Adams and attempted murder of Jesse Adams.

Motive of the shooting is undetermined. (Another site mentions Schizophrenia.)

Hazlett returned to the crime scene and was detained after deputies and detectives had been there for a period of time.
