COLUMBIA, SC (WIS) - A man wanted on a warrant issued in 1991 out of Williamson County, Texas, was arrested over the weekend in Lexington, South Carolina.
According to the U.S. Marshals, Edward Woods, also known as Edward Aiken, was arrested without incident on Saturday, April 4.
Woods was the subject of a 1991 Williamson County, TX, warrant charging him with failure to appear on an original charge of indecency with a child.
He had been on the run for 18 years.
Authorities received information from Texas last week that Woods was possibly living off of Biddle Road in Lexington.
Lexington County investigators and deputy Marshals in Columbia began surveillance shortly after receiving the information and were able to apprehend Woods.
Woods, 42, was booked into the Lexington County Detention Center awaiting extradition proceedings.
