Louie Rivera beat his GF's son, 7-year-old clings to life

A 7-year-old boy beaten in Brentwood, allegedly at the hands of his mother's live-in boyfriend, is clinging to life with the help of a respirator, Suffolk County police said yesterday.

The boy's injuries are so severe that the criminal inquiry is being investigated by the Suffolk police homicide squad.

The boyfriend, Louie Rivera, 32, who has admitted causing the injuries, has been charged with assault and is jailed on $1 million cash or $2 million bond, authorities say.

Authorities say Rivera was baby-sitting the boy at the home Friday about 5:40 p.m. when the beating occurred.

Police responding to a 911 call found the child "in obvious distress," police said in a release. Officers performed cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

The boy was first brought to Southside Hospital in Bay Shore with "substantial internal injuries," then admitted to Stony Brook University Medical Center.

"The boy underwent emergency surgery for his internal injuries and is on a respirator," police said.

Jesus fuck, what could a 7 year old do that would possess a grown man to beat him almost to death? I can't think of one thing. When that boy showed up in the hospital all beat to shit they should have just shot this fucker on the spot.

These stories just make me so sick. That poor child. I'm venturing to guess it's not the first time Louie mistreated the boy. Wonder what mom will have to say about it. Let me guess -- I knew he could be rough with him at times, but I never expected anything like this.

I sure hope the kid pulls through.

That must have been the mother of all beatings. That poor child is 'clinging to life', he had substantial internal injuries which needed emergency surgery, and its being investigated by the homicide squad.

It does not sound good for that little guy.

I hope with all my heart that Louie gets the same treatment he doled out to this child, but without the medical intervention to try and save him. Let him die in agony, and then we can all dance on his grave.

What's up with the collar thing around his neck? Looks like a garbage bag tucked in there... would be nice if it's the drawstring type and someone would close it - tight.

That poor boy!! All kids can be testing but not to the point they need to be beaten!!
I dearly hope this sweet boy recovers fully but if homicide is investigating its not looking good. My heart aches for this poor child.
