OGLE COUNTY — The Ogle County Sheriff’s Department arrested an Oregon couple Wednesday on child-abuse charges.

Thomas Miatke Jr., 21, was charged with aggravated battery of a child, a Class X felony. Sarah Miatke, 23, was charged with reckless conduct and contributing to the neglect of a child, both Class A misdemeanors.

The couple’s 3-month-old son was found to have multiple bone fractures in his legs and arms. He has been put in the care of the Department of Children and Family Services.

Thomas Miatke’s bond is set at $200,000 and Sarah Miatke’s bond is set at $7,500.

OGLE COUNTY (WREX) - An Ogle County couple faces charges in the abuse of a three month old infant.

A three month old infant was found with multiple bone fractures to their legs and arms on Friday, March 27. The infant was treated at two hospitals and is now in the protective custody of DCFS.

This definition of the word is from the Cambidge Advanced Dictionary: an action which is slightly bad or breaks a rule but is not a crime. What is the American legal definition of it? (from what I have gathered from posts on here, its not that different to the Cambridge one! Something naughty, but not really THAT bad.)

According to court documents, Thomas Miatke injured the baby on March 26 when he “slammed” her “on her legs into a crib.”
