Homicide investigators are searching for a man who allegedly stabbed his wife to death in their northwest Harris County home Friday afternoon, authorities said.
Precinct 4 deputy constables arrived at the two-story home in the 10900 block of Meadow Walk Lane around 4:45 p.m. and found 34-year-old Lucinda Bernard dead with multiple stab wounds, said Harris County Sheriff’s Office Sgt. Larry Davis.
A witness told investigators that Bernard’s husband, Donald Bernard, 44, allegedly attacked and stabbed his wife before fleeing their home in a gray Ford Ranger pick up struck with Texas licenses plate: 50P-BG8, Davis said.
Investigators learned the couple had been having marital problems for a while but are unsure what prompted the stabbing.
“Something set him off and he attacked her,” Davis said.
The couple’s 15-year-old daughter was upstairs in the home during the stabbing, but did not witness the incident, authorities said.
Several family members and friends were gathered at the home Friday evening. They said the couple had been together for 15 years. In addition to a 15-year-old daughter, the couple also have a 12-year-old daughter and a 10-year-old son.
