PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) - A Providence woman is accused of biting and beating up a middle school principal because he was suspending her 11-year-old son from school.

According to Providence police reports, Aleyda Uceta, 30, became angry Friday with Roger Williams Middle School principal Rudolph Moseley, Jr. when he told her about the boy's three-day suspension.

Uceta began yelling at Moseley and punched him in the face, according to the report. When Moseley tried to push the woman away, the student joined in and hit Moseley, police said.

The report said Uceta then grabbed Mosley's left arm and began to bite him.

A female teacher tried to calm Uceta by speaking to her in Spanish, but Uceta punched the teacher in the face as well, police said.

School resource officers were called to the office, and they tried to remove Uceta from the building, but she resisted.

Uceta's extended family even got involved, surrounding her and the police officers who were trying to subdue her. During the melee, Uceta reportedly also bit an officer and hit at least one of them in the face. One patrolman got kicked by Uceta, and a pocket was ripped out of his police jacket.

Once handcuffed and in police custody, the report states, Uceta said, "I'm going to take your gun and shoot all of you."

Police said she then continued struggling, trying to kick the window panes out of a door in the office.

Police had a rescue crew take her away from the school for a psychological evaluation. She stands charged with assaulting police officers and other officials, and resisting arrest.

Moseley was taken to a local hospital for treatment. The patrolman who got kicked got treatment on his own.

The police report does not state why Uceta's son was going to be suspended.

Just a couple weeks ago, Roger Williams Middle School was also at the center of an incident where an assistant principal was accused of stomping a Dominican flag -- on the day the school was honoring the Dominican Republic's independence.

Wonder what the kid is being suspended for? I would assume with a mother like this for fighting.
Geez, we all say we will fight for our kids, but I don't think for a suspension any of us would fight to this extreme

She is charged with assault on school officials, assault on police officers and resisting arrest.

Principal Rudolph Moseley Jr. was allegedly assaulted after he told Uceta that her son would be suspended for three days for refusing to go to a room for misbehaving students.

Police say Uceta punched Moseley in the face and bit his left arm.

Attempts to reach Uceta by phone for comment were unsuccessful.

The principal, Rudolph Moseley Jr., said he told Uceta that her 11-year-old son would be suspended for three days, according to a police report. Moseley told the police that she became angry and began yelling at him.

School Department spokeswoman Christina O’Reilly confirmed Monday that Moseley was allegedly assaulted by a parent but declined to provide details.

Moseley repeatedly asked Uceta to lower her voice but she refused, the police said, and Uceta then punched the principal in the face. When Moseley pushed the mother away, her son struck him, according to the police report. Next, Uceta allegedly grabbed Moseley’s left arm and began biting him.

A teacher intervened and began speaking to Uceta in Spanish but Uceta punched her in the face, according to the police.

When officers arrived, they attempted to escort Uceta out of the school but she continued to try to punch Moseley, the police said.

By then, a large crowd of Uceta’s family had gathered, making it difficult for the officers to take her into custody. During the struggle, Uceta bit a patrolman’s arm and struck a patrolman in the face, according to the police. She also kicked another police officer and ripped the pocket out of his jacket.

After Uceta was placed in custody she said, “I’m going to take your gun and shoot all of you,” according to the police report.

While handcuffed and seated on the floor of the school’s main office, Uceta attemped to kick the window panes out of a door, the police said.

Moseley was taken to a hospital for treatment, according to the police. One officer was bitten and another suffered a back injury, the police said.

Yesterday, Moseley said he was fine and that he had no idea what prompted the attack. The 11-year-old boy was suspended from school, he said, because he refused to go to a room where misbehaving students are assigned to cool down. The incident happened around 1 p.m.

“The school is OK,” the principal said. “We’re focusing on teaching and learning.”

Heck I double posted something this morning that I did a search on and nothing came up but low and behold there the damn thing was after the fact...It happens.
