Lakeisha Adams used dryer to kill her 3-month-old son.

A Louisiana woman has been found guilty of killing her baby by putting him into a clothes dryer and turning the machine on.

A jury convicted Lakeisha Adams of second-degree murder Saturday for the death of her 3-month-old son, Jailand in December 2005. The local coroner's office said the child suffered blunt force trauma to his head as well as second and third degree burns on half of his body. The mother, who also had a 1-year-old child, was 18 at the time.

Police in the town of Bogalusa said Adams admitted putting the infant in the dryer and turning it on, but did not explain why.

Her lawyer asked jurors to find her not guilty or not guilty by reason of insanity. Adams is expected to be sentenced later this month.

OMG stop with the dryers you bitches! I have never walked past my dryer and thought popping my baby into it was a good idea. All these whores that do this deserve to be shoved in a HUGE industrial dryer and tumbled to death.

Oh my gosh. I can't imagine listening to the thumping as the drum tumbles, let alone the screams of my infant. How can anyone even dream of doing something so horrible?

I wonder how they determine whether to charge them with first degree or second degree murder and what the difference is. I hope that she gets the maximum time. Even that -- no matter what it is -- will be enough.

I think this was the youngest child I've ever read about killed this way.

At 3 months, this baby's only constant person for want and need would have been his mother. He would have had eyes only for her, as he was just learning to laugh and smile spontaneously and look for her as he would hear her voice. Now tell me this, how does one put a precious baby who's early sounds are cooing and a smile that is only for you, in a dryer to die??? To hear his cries then hear them stop....how?? If this mother isn't insane, she's a bitch from Hell. Maybe both. I'm certain the defense will be postpartum depression. I'll wait to hear because this woman gave no explanation, not that one thing she would say would make sense, or bring this sweet child back....still I want to know, how? why?

In the darkest of days as she thinks of what her life was and what it now has become, she should remember the feeling of love at its purest form in her arms...the sound as he whimpered softly as she held him close, the smell of his skin and the feel of his perfect soft, baby body cradled next to her....then, I hope she answers why and it echos empty in her heart. You've made your own hell woman, live with it or die with it.

Had you lived little Jailand...what might have you become?

BOGALUSA, La. -- A woman convicted of second-degree murder for putting her 3-month-old son in the dryer has been formally sentenced to life in prison.

The district attorney's office said Lakeisha Shanae Adams was formally sentenced last week for the death of Jailand Adams.

The only possible sentence for second-degree murder is life in prison.

A State District Court jury convicted Adams on March 14, by an 11-1 vote.

Justice at last for little Jailand.

I am so fucking glad to read that this callous bitch is going to spend the rest of her life behind bars. I hope life does mean LIFE in this case too. The only way she should leave is in a pine box.

    RIP Jailand. xx

She was sentenced to life in prison. She also tried to appeal the sentence, but was NOT successful (thankfully!).

In March 2009 the defendant was tried by a jury and convicted as charged The
defendant was sentenced to life imprisonment at hard labor without the benefit of
probation parole or suspension of sentence The defendant now appeals...
According to the appeal, she was mad at her Jailand's father for moving to be with his new vagina and spawn. On the day she killed the baby, she had repeatedly called the him, telling him something was wrong with Jailand.

She repeatedly called Jones on his cellular
phone and asked why he was in Baton Rouge According to Jones the defendant
was jealous because she knew he was in Baton Rouge with Zenaida She wanted
him to return to Bogalusa Jones testified he told the defendant that Zenaida had
given birth to a baby for him also and it was time for him to be with her Jones
claimed that because the defendant kept calling and aggravating him he
eventually turned his phone off Later when he turned the phone back on the
defendant called and stated that someone put JA in the dryer
There are some very graphic descriptions of the crime scene and the baby's injuries at the link- consider yourself warned!

    The
officers found the body of three monthold JApropped up on a sofa inside the
residence The cshild body was covered with thermal injuries The injuries were
red in color and had heat radiating from them A large bloodstained comforter was
found inside the dryer and the dsryer lint filter contained pieces ofhuman skin

omg, *shuffer* I cannot even imagine what that boor little baby boy had to endure :((( mah gosh!

Franklin testified she overheard the phone calls the defendant made to Jones
on the day in question According to Franklin the defendant called once and told
Jones something was wrong withJA Approximately 35 to 40 minutes later the
defendant called and said the baby was dead Franklin also confirmed the violent
relationship that existed between herself and the defendant She admitted to
stabbing the defendant once and stated the defendant ran over her with a vehicle
Ummmm... was this at all reported to officials or what? Sounds kind of extreme .. Doesn't look as if this was reported which MAY have helped save this baby in the first place.... MAYBE. SO sad to think of that little mere glimpse of hope with "maybe, just maybe.." this could have been prevented... this girl could have been locked up for battery/assualt whatever... just anything to save that little boy :( to have given him a chance with a real loving mother....

    defendant freely and
voluntarily confessed to placing JA inside the dryer and turning it on She
explained that she was watching a movie with her daughter C A and JA was
crying The defendant claimed she left the baby in the dryer for an undisclosed
amount of time before taking his body out and sitting him up on the sofa She also
claimed that she had taken several different types of medication that day
The record reflects and the defendant
acknowledgesthe idea of mental illness did not even come into play at the
hearing on the motion to suppress
defendant does not contest that the evidence was
sufficient to establish second degree murder absent a finding that she was insane
at the time of the offense However the defendant insists that the evidence of her
history of mental illness severe depression together with the expert testimony
regarding the additional diagnosis of postpartum depression aonrd posttraumatic
stress disorder proved that she lost touch with reality during the time that she
placed her infant son in the clothes dryer The defendant argues that she met her
burden of proof at trial and the jury acted irrationally in convicting her of second
    degree murder
    defendant
specifically stated that she did not mean to kill him This statement further
supports a finding that the defendant was aware that the harm she inflicted upon
AJ by placing him in the dryer was wrong The dsefendant statement expressing
concern that her family would hate her provides even further insight into her
appreciation of the wrongful nature of her conduct As Dr LeBourgeois reasoned
if the defendant had not understood that placing the baby in the dryer was wrong
there would have been no reason for her to believe that her family would hate her
    for having done it
stupid fucking bitch. I don't even have enough strong and/or hateful words or expressions towards this cuntwich. omg... just omg. How awful. Can I please visit her and stab her? like a gazillion times?

Well at least she didn't claim she was sleep deprived and how being a single mom is so hard and somehow while doing the laundry the baby got wrapped up in a comforter after she washed it and put it all in the dryer unaware.
