Philadelphia police said they're searching for two children who went missing after a trip to a Philadelphia playground.
Taliya Hamilton, 14, and Brianna Boyd, 3, left their residence at approximately 6 p.m. Sunday to go to the playground.
The sisters were seen inside of the playground at approximately 8 p.m., police also reported.
Their mom, Michelle Hamilton, told Fox 29
she watched as the girls entered Veterans' Park, which is within eyeshot of her home. About 20 minutes later she called out to them to come home, but she got no answer.
So, Hamilton went to the park herself and saw her daughters were gone.
The mother said
she spent about two hours driving around searching for them before she called police.
She does not think a stranger abducted her children, noting that
her older daughter recently became rebellious and has been taking off for a day or two at a time.
"Taliya's just been walking off lately," Hamilton said. "I'm not even sure what's going through her mind right now. I don't know what possessed her to take Brianna with her. I mean, if she wanted to walk off or go somewhere, she could have Brianna back in the house or brought her back across the street."
Hamilton said police checked some nearby projects where Taliye has been found before, but no luck.
The mother told Fox 29
her older daughter is not a very responsible big sister and may have left the little girl with someone. That's why she's so concerned.
Taliya was described as being 5 feet 6 inches tall, about 115 pounds, with brown eyes and brown, straight hair down to the middle of her back. She was last seen wearing a gray sweatshirt, blue jeans and white sneakers.
Police said Brianna is 3 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 30 pounds, has brown eyes and short, black, curly hair. She was in a red and black jacket, black pants, black sneakers and had different colored barrettes in hair.
