Harris County law enforcement authorities are searching for a
missing autistic man who apparently walked away from an assisted-living facility in Spring.
Daryl Lindsey, 29, was reported missing early Wednesday morning, said Lt. John Legg of the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
A staff member at the facility said that she last him at the home about 4:25 a.m., but when she checked on him in his bedroom about an hour later, he was gone.
He apparently walked out the front door, Legg said.
He is described as 6 feet tall and 180 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes. He was last seen wearing a white T-shirt and blue shorts with a yellow stripe on them.
Lindsey has
behavior concerns that include self injury and possible aggression. He also needs medications and has seizures, officials said.
The facility staff members said that Lindsey has walked away from the home without supervision on other occasions, but quickly was found each time unharmed, Legg said.
He said that Lindsey's relatives do not live in the area and they do not where he is.
"We're perplexed at where he could be," Legg said.
Anyone with information regarding Lindsey's whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Harris County Missing Persons Unit at 713-755-7427.
