Disappearing thanks button

I'm kind of thanks, rep. happy, more with thanks. The way I see it, if your post is useful, thoughtful, funny or clever your getting thanks from me. Sometimes I have to slow down as I will run out too soon. If your post is VERY useful, informative, thoughtful, funny or clever you get a rep. and maybe a thanks to.... yes, I've been known to give both

, depends on the timing of things. Even when I don't agree with a post but it was thought provoking and or informative, I thanks or rep. Some people like our awesome thread posters and those who dig up real good info, I don't want them overlooked, they are doing the hard work and should get noticed for it. Also, newbies that are just getting their feet wet and are brave enough to post something useful, I'm all over that too.

I wouldn't say I'm a whore about it but I give it out enough that you could call me a real friendly neighbor.

You are wonderful, and especially helpful to a new user not sure how the forum works. I'm still learning my way around.
I've been using thanks for threads and comments. A bit more cautious with reps because I'm not actually sure how often we're allowed to use it.

If you subscribe to the site, one of the many awesome things that happens is that you see who gave you the rep even if they don't sign it!!

The link to subscribe is on the maroon bar above and says "Be Bold, Subscribe!".

I try to sign it even if i know someone is "bold" (subscriber), that way I stay in the habit and don't forget.

I read the thing about thanks and reps but I've already forgotten and don't feel like reading it again right now. I give out thanks when I really agree, hardly ever give out groans just cause. I thought reps were for a really good, thoughtful post. But that's just me.

Since I skip around so much, I'm sure I miss really good posts that I should rep. But I just woke up, so never mind what I'm saying.

I did subscribe actually. Was kind of wondering what the deal was since I did that last Wednesday. Thanks for the info DV :)

You did then the best thing to do is PM Morbid and let him know you did when and how you paid for it. That's what I do. Sorry that happened. I'm glad u did because you will get to decorate your profile page and lots of nifty things to do.

For the first time, I'm outta thanks. I had been so stingy and then I got too generous. So I thought I'd read about the disappearing thanks button, and I just wanted to thank everybody who posted to this thread. Very helpful indeed, and I'd thank you all, but as I already said, I'm outta thanks. I'm still not sure what reps are and what they're for, so I guess I could do that...??? Anyway, THANK YOU!

Hey honey, see the silver scales next to the post number? If you really like someones post and think they said said something totally great, click on it and it will bring up a small box and you can type in a comment and then click submit and you've given positive rep!

Or if you think they were an ass, you click the other button when the box pops up and give negative rep!! Easy peasy!!

There's a kink going on right now where you can't remove a thanks or groan once you've given it. Not sure if it's temporary or not... so I'm just being careful to only click if I really mean it.

If you Thank/Groan a post, both the buttons disappear.
