Eric Ambrose steals candy, t-shirts, beer buts says he can because his a war veteran

FORT PIERCE -- (AP) -- Authorities arrested a man who claimed he was justified in stealing candy from a Fort Pierce truck stop because he had served in the military.

Police say an officer confronted Eric T. Ambrose, 31, at the truck stop Monday. The officer reported finding several packages of candy and nuts, two T-shirts and a bottle of beer in Ambrose's pockets. He said he had paid for them, but a clerk denied ringing up the items.

While in the patrol vehicle, Ambrose screamed out the window that he had served in the military in Iraq and could steal all the M&M's he wanted. His veteran status could not be immediately verified.

It wasn’t the first time Ambrose, 31, had been arrested this month — on Saturday he created a “spectacle” at a Super 8 Motel and was arrested and charged with disorderly intoxication and causing a public disturbance, police said.

What a jerkface, Vet. or not. Which by the way is the main reason I am commenting, my husband (who pays for his M&Ms) is a Vet. and frankly people who do things and throw out that excuse piss me off.
