OCALA - A man who pleaded guilty to having intercourse with a 4-year-old girl was sentenced to 40 years in prison Tuesday in a case described by a detective as among the worst child sex crimes he has ever investigated.

At one point during the investigation, Ruiz said that he might need medical attention, stating that he may have hurt himself during the forceful act.
