Former U of M Football star Xavier Crawford is in custody. Crawford was located inside a home in north Shelby County near Brunswick and Godwin Road Wednesday night.

Crime sent a ripple through this scenic Lakewood Hills subdivision. There were 2 attacks on the same day. Critically injured were 67 year old woman and an 18 year old girl. Xavier Crawford is wanted for the sexual assault of the 18 year old. The attack happened at the 3600 block of Beech Hollow, the same address where his former girlfriend, former council woman Pat Vander Schaaf lives. We went to her home to ask her about the incident but she shut it, just as quickly as she opened it.

Police are also investigating the carjacking and beating of a 67 year old woman who lives less than a mile away at a home on West Lakewood Drive. She was attacked in her driveway just hours after the 18 year old was raped. Police have not linked the two. The older woman was beaten so badly she is in the med in critical condition and detectives have not been able to talk to her.

Stuart Maddox made up some fliers and is spending the day riding through the neighborhood putting them in mailboxes. It's his way of helping police solve this crime.

Maddox said, "I'm just distributing it around the neighborhood so everybody knows because communication is the big thing in the neighborhood. If nobody knows. Nobody know what to look for."
