ROCHESTER, N.H.—A Dover, N.H., man is accused of trying to poison his ex-girlfriend by spiking her drinking water.
Thirty-year-old Steven Frost is charged with attempted assault and burglary.
Police say he broke into the victim's Rochester home in November and poured sleeping medicine in a bottle of drinking water in her refrigerator.
Authorities say the woman noticed her sliding glass door had been tampered with and called police. She then noticed the water in a bottle in her fridge was cloudy. She did not drink it.
Police say tests on the bottle confirmed it contained the medication and led them to Frost.
