Police have arrested a man for attempted murder after he cut his son twice in the head.

John Phillips was intoxicated when he got into a fight with his three adult sons because they were disrespecting him.

The four were all fighting outside 680 S. 20th street when several witnesses called police. Phillips pulled out a kitchen knife with a six inch blade and began swinging it at the other men.

22 year old Jaron Hicks was cut twice in his head, a four inch cut from his right eyebrow to his ear and a six inch cut along the left side of his scalp.

Hicks was taken to Bryan LGH West and Phillips was arrested for attempted homicide.
