
HARTFORD, Conn. -- Plainville Police believe a woman was stabbed to death by a former lover on Valentine's Day.
Police got a call at 9:41 p.m. Saturday about a woman who had been stabbed and seriously injured. Police found Tiana Notice, 25, of Plainville, on the back deck of the residence at 140 Whiting St. She was suffering from several stab wounds, alive but unresponsive, according to police.
Notice was taken by ambulance to Hartford Hospital and pronounced dead at about 11:45 p.m.
Notice's former boyfriend, James P. Carter II, 28, of Bloomfield, Conn., was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with murder, violation of a restraining order and criminal trespass in the first degree. He is being held in Plainville on a $2 million bond.
Detectives are investigating the circumstances of the killing with help from the state's attorney's office. The Connecticut State Police Major Crime Squad is processing the scene.
