Rose West Thinks She's Done Enough Time

I love UK newspapers, and I've always been oddly fascinated by the Fred and Rose West story. So for your perusal, amusement, or disgust, here's Rose West: I Should Be Freed. There is an accompanying article with pics of Rose in prison.

Rose West is serving life in prison, complete with Playstation and Christmas decorations, for ten murders of young girls and women - including her daughter. Her husband Fred, who was to stand trial for twelve murders, hung himself in jail in 1995.

Fred pimped out Rose and probably also their daughters. Rose would go with her husband to abduct teenagers, they'd engage in a little heavy BDSM and torture, and then they'd kill the girl and Fred would bury her in the backyard. They did this a lot, between molesting their own kids and Rose getting knocked up by johns. But it wasn't until their daughter Heather, 16, had been missing for a year that Gloucester police caught the couple. See, one of their other kids told police that Heather was buried under the back porch. And when they dug her up, they found more. And more. And more.

Here's a little more backstory as well.

Fuck-an-A. She thinks she should be freed? That bitch should have just been put down. You can't re-hab that sort of sickness.

Evil Rose West Gives Cross Stitching Lessons To Inmates
House of Horrors killer Rose West has started a club in prison – teaching *fellow inmates how to cross-stitch.
    [..]
Her pupils are “she-devil” Clare *Nicholls, who tortured her *boyfriend to death, and Valerie Walsh, jailed for child abuse.

West, 56, gives her new friends lessons in embroidery, knitting and cross-stitching.

The three are said to have forged a close relationship and spend up to three nights a week in serial killer Rose’s cell at Low Newton Prison near Durham. A prison source revealed: “They huddle together like a scene from a *Victorian *bestseller.

“Rose plays the teacher as she is an expert at all forms of dress-making and the *difficult art of cross-stitching.

“The other two listen to her every word and have made remarkable progress with stitching and designs.

“They are all good with *needles, which is not *necessarily a pleasant thought considering their crimes.”

Nicholls, 28, is serving at least 28 years in prison for torturing to death Andrew Gardner, the father of her youngest child.

Andrew, who lived with *Nicholls in Chilton, Co Durham, suffered 150 injuries, including 21 rib fractures and a broken skull.

Nicholls – described as a “she-devil” by a previous lover – was found guilty in January.

Her brother Simon, 24, and on-off lover Steven Martin, 44, were also jailed.

Walsh, who is in her fifties, was jailed with her male partner for physically and sexually abusing children. West got life in 1995 for the string of notorious murders at 25 Cromwell Street, Gloucester.

Her husband Fred hanged himself in jail that year while *awaiting trial.

Evil West is said to be *highly skilled at cross-stitching, an *elaborate form of embroidery used to create pictures.

In the past she has used it to produce scenes of wildlife which are displayed around her cell.

But West has failed to entice her close friend Kemi Adeyoola, 22, to join her knitting group.

The millionaire’s daughter, who stabbed an 84-year-old neighbour to death, has told West she would rather work out in the gym.

The source added: “Kemi is a gym orderly and reckons knitting is too much like an old woman’s hobby

First thing I want to say is. WTF!!!!!!!!! This bitch thinks she served enough time? Seriously? She should be taken out back and shot. She is one sick individual, and shouldn't have been allowed to live as long as she did.

    And as for this comment...
    difficult art of cross-stitching.
That just makes no sense to me because I can cross-stitch, it's easy to me. But I can't knit, crotchet, sew, embroider, etc. I never thought that cross-stitching was considered difficult.

You are not losing your mind. The article was clearly written by someone who has never tried any form of embroidery, least of all cross-stitching. Anybody who can count can cross-stitch (no disrespect intended!). Some of the other stuff gets complicated.

I don't know if I should admit that I can do a little crochet. I was taught by my mom, who wasn't a serial killer as far as I know.

That "class" sounds seriously f'd up. It's like the Adams family meets the Munsters.... geez.

Rose West was right there beside her husband and helped to kill those women. There is no such thing as "enough" time for something like that. I agree with @Robynne. She should be taken out back and shot. I read about Fred and Rose on a true crime site and got more and more sick as I read it. Fred deserved to be punished as well. Justice was cheated when he offed himself.

The West's are one of my "pet"cases.
Here's an interesting one for you-
Until she died MYRA HINDLEY (who helped her partner rape & murder young children & record it)was BFF with Rose West in prison.

That's a real W.T.F that they were housed together & allowed to fraternize together.
I'd love to know what they chatted about.

Mr.Elf is British & I love British crime although their convoluted legal system is disgustingly soft on crime ESPECIALLY sex crimes involving children! Some of the sentences carried out are mind boggling & their prison system is not harsh enough(prisoners are ALLOWED cell phones!)

Counted cross stitch is not hard and doesn't really involve any skill or practice. It's good mindless work. I know a woman who did a LOT of counted cross stitch in the first year or two after her daughter died. It kept her hands busy while her brain tried to process and heal.

As for this chick, I think it's good that she's finding something productive to do with her time while she's in prison, but her ass needs to stay there.

I do counted cross stitch and its not the hardest thing in the world
to do it also does take concentration b/c you miss one stitch your fucked the whole time after
    Some are difficult some arent
Im talking the blank material you start with not a pattern pasted onto the material a chimp could do that
Here are the last 3 ive done in last 8 months and the first 2 were easy (6 weeks) each
but this last one is 2.5 feet by 3 feet 83 pages of pattern that will take on average of 7 years to complete
And as for lessons I taught myself although I know there are a couple counted cross stitch stores around here that do offer class

I have never done the picture stamped ones. Always the counted. It doesn't seem as much of an art if you are just putting thread over a picture.

I taught my daughter how to cross stitch. She's been doing little things here and there since she was 9. I'll get in my craft box and find some of the things we've done. She didn't use the picture stamped ones either. We do however use patterns sometimes, and sometimes I design my own.

Here are some that I am working on....

    Here is one Meghan made...

We don't really have time to cross stitch lately. The younger kids won't let us.

I've teased @whisperswing about the back looking exactly the front. My grammies were militant seamstresses, and cross-stitch had to be the same, front and back. If not, it got ripped out. Start over. It taught me alot. Like stay away from grammies and hide the cross-stitch. Unfortunatly, I picked their nasty traits of wanting perfection. Fucking cross-stitch.

I'm appalled that they let the bitch around scissors and needles. I'd join her damn club just for the opportunity to jab her with a crewel embroidery needle. Or maybe a #11 quilt needle...very small, very sharp; with one good jab it would go so far in she'd need surgery to get it out.

I suspect you all are Rose West! Either that or the thread wandered WAY off topic for a bit...

I read about this story years ago and then updated it and forgot about it
But I was telling someone in chat the other night I had a freaking nightmare about the Fred charater the other day
I have no clue why but I knew it was him as soon as I woke up(his funky hair and suits he wore at trial)

I wouldn't mind learning how to cross stitch simply because I spend a lot of time at home.
I just have no idea how to get started.
Need to be productive any way I can.

After all the crimes she committed and all the lives destroyed, she still thinks she served enough time? Just by saying that she deserves to be freed, shows she DOESN'T deserve to be freed. She has shown little to no remorse for what she did to these girls, and to her own flesh and blood.
