Man Accused Of Sex Electrocution Of Wife

    First post test.

CRALEY, Pa. -- Police said a 29-year-old York County woman is dead after her husband apparently shocked her with an electric cord to stimulate her during sex. Officials said 37-year-old Toby Taylor was jailed Thursday in lieu of $100,000 bail on involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment charges.

I think that this was largely preventable. Part of the reason such unsafe practices occur is the shame and stigma attached to fetishism in our society. Anything that deviates from the Biblically-approved standards is viewed with scorn and hostility at the very least. And this says nothing of the truly extreme fetishes, like auto-erotic asphyxiation, water sports, or in this case, electricity play.

Almost any fetish (even asphyxiation) can be done safely if those involved educate themselves beforehand, and take things slowly. But this is not common practice, as such information is not widely available, and there are few outlets for advice, since these "aberrant" activities are considered too outlandish to be discussed in capacity other than outright condemnation.

The puritanical outlook we have towards sex hinders a richer education, one which would help to prevent cases such as this. I don't foresee a change any time soon though, which is disappointing. Most people, whether or not they'll admit to it, have some sort of "unusual" fetish, but they dare not speak of it, approve of fetishism in general.
Puritanism: The haunting fear that someone, somewhere, may be happy.

I swear i didn't see this before i posted this morning, but this is a great story. It has all the elements for a good discussion piece.

I still think the duct tape over her mouth was a bad idea. What was she supposed to do, *twitch* when the voltage was high enough?

March 26 - Kirsten Taylor was deliberately electrocuted, according to a recently completed autopsy.

After reviewing the findings of Dr. Samuel Land, York County Coroner Barry Bloss has ruled her death as a homicide.

Taylor was released from York County Prison on Jan. 28 on $100,000 bail. He has a preliminary hearing scheduled for April 3 before York County District Justice Doug Meisenhelter.

(Apparently, it was electrical tape he put over her mouth. Cuz, you know, that's what you use when you're dealing with electricity. However, that shit doesn't stick worth a damn. If I were going to tape someone's mouth closed, I'd definitely opt for duct tape.)

Toby Robert Taylor's jury deliberated a little more than four hours Thursday before convicting him of third-degree murder, involuntary manslaughter and reckless endangerment for his wife's electrocution.

Kirsten Taylor, 27, was killed Jan. 23, 2008, in the couple's Lower Windsor Township trailer after her husband applied electricity from bared wires to her breasts.

Taylor, who remains in York County Prison without bail, faces a possible state prison term of 20 to 40 years when he returns May 22 for sentencing. County District Attorney Stan Rebert, who prosecuted the case, said he will ask for the maximum sentence.

Taylor was acquitted of the more-serious charge of first-degree murder, which carries a mandatory sentence of life in prison without parole.

My gosh....this man was angry about an affair his wife had years earlier? He discussed ways to kill his wife without being caught and "kinky sex" gone awry was his solution? He "punished" a previous gf for talking to boys in a similar fashion? And the pathologist who performed the autopsy wasn't available to testify at the trial due to a family emergency, but saw no signs that the couple had engaged in consensual electro-stimulation prior to the woman's death as the defendant claimed?

He should have been found guilty of first degree murder. I hope he ends up getting the maximum sentence.

LOL my boyfriend grew up where this happened at, I remember reading about the trial starting at the beginning of the week and was going to post something about it but it slipped my mind. I can't believe that he didn't get charged with 1st degree murder, especially when all the stuff came to light that this is how he "punished" a former lover.
