Springfield sex offender tries to castrate himself

SPRINGFIELD -- A convicted sex offender tried to castrate himself with a fillet knife, apparently after having an urge to offend again, according to a police report.

The 59-year-old man removed one of his testicles Sunday night and flushed it down the toilet. The other testicle was severely injured.

We sent the asshole a machete? Although, I do applaud his efforts to try and dissuade himself from offending again. I just think we should make sure he has the necessary tools available to do a more effective job.

I do have to say good for him for cutting to the root of the problem. Its a little bit harder to offend and have urgers without the equipment.

The only problem with that is when castrated, stats show they end up murdering their victims to get the feelings and rush they need. It's the brain that's wired wrong, not the penis and testicals.

I have long maintained that castration should be an option in lieu of jailtime or prison. Not all but some pedo cases. At least there is no chance they will re-offend. No balls no drive. Some just need death.

I thought they'd had luck in chemical castration of drastically reducing the sex (and therefore predatory,) drive of garden variety nonviolent pedophiles (similar hormonal effect to physical castration.) Now, for violent offenders, I'm guessing it's exactly what you say.

What research are you citing here? Because all the existing research on the subject I've seen referenced indicated exactly the opposite. Admittedly, much of it has it's limitations, but I haven't seen anything that suggests the opposite premise.

Thanks Kaylara, I agree if they are mean and sadistic they will do it anyway, that's another breed.

Since testosterone is creating the urges, and the brain is too fucked up to control those urges, get rid of the testosterone. Testosterone is made in the nutsack. So my logic is no balls no urge. He won't even get a hard on.
Chemically it might work too, I don't know enough about that. I'm old school. Cut em off. What would happen in Turkey or Iran? We are way to soft on these assholes. That's my take on it.

i see that there's some dispute over how effective castrating worthless fucks like this is, which is fair. what i think is important in this story is that this asshat made the decision himself. sure, we all think he and those like him should be castrated, but this time one of them actually agreed!

keeping that in mind, the only problem is that he didn't do a very good job. i would definitely donate to help send this fucker a machete or a chainsaw or anything to help his finish the job. let's just all hope he hasn't given up on the idea. better luck next time, keep trying perv!

Don't get me wrong - there are a number of arguments against castrating, and some of them will try to poke holes in what research there is. Hey, I'm a card carrying member of the ACLU, and I see the human rights issues here, lol. But I'm not sure, that given what's out there in the massively reduced recidivism, if the argument shouldn't be broadened to why not try castrating *all* violent felons.
