A Lehigh Acres woman was arrested Sunday after deputies say she was teaching one of her children to shoplift baby clothes at the Wal-Mart on Lee Boulevard.

Latoya Bradley remained in custody at the Lee County Jail today on charges of contributing to the delinquency of a minor, child cruelty and larceny petit theft.

When deputies arrived at the Wal-Mart, they talked to a security guard who said he had seen Bradley showing one of the four children with her how to put baby clothes underneath the other three children in the shopping cart. That way they wouldn’t be visible to the cashiers, according to a sheriff’s report.

Bradley and her children walked out of the store without paying for the clothes, the report said. The security guard then confronted Bradley and took the four children who were with her into his office.

Bradley fled the scene, leaving the children behind, the report said. Deputies later arrested her at a home on Quentin Avenue South.
