CRANDALL, Ga. -- Authorities in Murray County are investigating after three men were arrested on animal cruelty charges.

Sheriff Howard Ensley says three men were taken into custody Tuesday after a deputy answered a complaint that men had cut off a dog's head.

Authorities arrested 54-year-old Randall Blaylock, 45-year-old Jeffrey Lynn Fuller and 50-year-old Charles Roach on a charge of aggravated cruelty to animals.

Ensley says deputies found evidence that the canine was killed with an ax and parts of the carcass was put in a freezer.

Arrested were 54-year-old Randall Blaylock, 45-year-old Jeffrey Lynn Fuller and 50-year-old Charles Roach. The three men were charged on Tuesday with aggravated cruelty to animals, a felony.

Ensley said deputies found evidence that the canine was killed with an axe and parts of the carcass was put in a freezer.

Fuller reportedly told deputies "he was following God's plan."

The men are scheduled to appear at a bond hearing Wednesday.

Three men in Murray County have been arrested in what the sheriff calls one of the worst cases of animal abuse he's ever seen.

Late Monday night the Murray County Sheriff's office responded to 130 Greyland Farm Road. Sheriff Howard Ensley says someone called dispatch reporting that men there address had cut a dog's head off, and were eating it.

When deputies arrived, they said they found three men covered in blood... Richard Roach, 50, Randall Blaylock, 54, and Geffery Fuller, 45.

The men first told deputies that that had just killed a deer in the backyard. But, Sheriff Ensley said authorities then found a bloodied ax in the back yard next to a chopping block where a dog's head had been cut off. The men then admitted to deputies that they had skinned their own dog, and put its meat in the freezer.

The animal's limbs and skins were in a burn barrel and the dog's carcass had just been put in the freezer. Authorities say all three men were drunk, and Fuller told deputies he had "just carried out God's plan."
