HOUSTON -- Authorities say a mother arrested for leading deputies on a car chase after breaking into her ex-boyfriend’s home had a couple of unwitting accomplices: her two young children.
Jessica Oropeza, 22, is accused of breaking into her ex-boyfriend’s Houston home Tuesday as she had her 3-year-old and 9-month-old children by her side. Oropeza is also accused of throwing bricks at him and then threatening him with a knife.
Oropeza fled the scene and led deputies on a car chase that was cut short after authorities realized she had kids in the vehicle. She was later arrested at her home.
Oropeza has been charged with burglary, assault and child endangerment. Her children were evaluated by Child Protective Services and turned over to relatives.
